I just want to throw two things up in the air so you can better understand what I'm all about.

1. If there are any troops our there, male or female, that would like encouraging, meaningful letters from someone who cares while they are on duty, just let me know. My girlfriends and I are some of the few that think about those of y'all who don't have family and friends to remind you everday that all your sacrifice is for a cause. I will write EVERY and ANY soldier who asks for support. EVERYONE needs a little love sometimes.

2. Yes, I do want to marry a man in the military someday, and I'll tell you why. Men in the military are hard workers. They understand commitment and sacrifice. My mother was in the Army, my father was in the Navy (and missed the first year of my life because he was on a tour), and my step-father was in the Air Force. I understand how the military works, and I know how to work around it.

I believe I was meant to be a military wife because I have seen women who aren't. When a very good friend of mine joined the Marines, he wrote me about a friend of his whos girlfriend send him a Dear John letter while he was in bootcamp. The recruit hung himself that night. About 40% of girlfriends, wives, and fiancees break up with their military men once they leave. The job is hard enough, and no soldier should have to face it alone. It is a minimum 4 year commitment, and you need support from someone you know will be behind you no matter what. Tours are a minimum of 12 months, but I've never seen one last less that 18.

In my heart, I know I can be faithful, commited, and strong. Every good soldier deserves his own "front line" at home, and I hate seeing them get with these girls that break their hearts. Honestly, I like the space. I am a nester, so I like keeping house while my man is away. I know the heartache a woman faces when she is in love with a soldier, because, to be completely honest, I used to be one. I have never been more afraid in my life... but I had also never been so proud. I haven't been as proud of a man since, and so I'm going back to what I know I'm good at.

As far as getting married to the military for money goes, I think it is pathetic. It's one thing to JOIN the military for money, but it's another to have a man break his back for a paycheck (which, by the way, aren't even that big) and have some girl in the states spending it all, especially when she's screwing around on him. I'll admit, I loved living on base... but I am by FAR not a Gold Digger. The way I see it, you shouldn't spend what you didn't earn. Send me a message
